ARTIST STATEMENT

Investigating how we construct mental models of our internal and external worlds drive my practice. My work examines cultural relationships between material, environment and self which aim to challenge our preconceptions of what an object is, and how we interact with them. I’m interested in how materials are interpreted when placed in different landscapes and spaces and how this relationship can change the way the viewer reads the object, form or space.  The questions that arise from exploring these elements will show how we interpret the world around us arises from conceptual constructs that are imbedded in the global culture we live in today.
